It Started With a Line on an Action Board

Almost exactly a year ago I was sitting in a café in Lisbon on my birthday morning.

I do this every year — not a New Year's resolutions person, but I love taking a moment on my birthday to reflect. To dream a little. To set some intentions.

I'd been hearing from so many people about wanting something that actually meets you where you are. Not another meditation app. Not a streak to maintain or a badge to earn. Just something real, for real days. Something that works on a Tuesday when everything is is too much.

So I opened my journal, had a think about names, and drew a line on my action board.

Baseline.

No business plan. No idea how to build an app. No clue what I was actually getting myself into. Just a word, a line, and something that felt like the beginning of something.

If I'd known then what it would involve, I might never have started. Which is maybe the whole point. Sometimes the only way in is the first tiny step without being able to see the whole staircase.

What followed

A year of figuring it out — slowly, messily.

A developer building something I could only half-describe. Conversations with the community that shaped almost every decision. Beta testers who showed me things about this tool I hadn't even imagined. Late nights wondering if it was good enough. Early mornings when I was onto something and had to keep going.

And through all of it, this was as much a personal mission as it was a product.

More moments at baseline wasn't just a tagline. It was something I was living alongside building it. Practising what I was creating. Feeling the shift in my own life as I gave myself the same tools I was putting into the app.

Something has genuinely changed for me this year. Not because everything got easier or more perfect. But because I've had more access to myself. More moments of actually being here. More capacity to handle the hard stuff without it taking over the whole day.

What baseline actually is

Not a meditation app. Not a wellness platform. Not something that requires the right conditions or a clear head or fifteen minutes of uninterrupted peace.

Something much simpler. Over 100 body-first resets, one to three minutes each, matched to your actual nervous system state in that moment. Not a one-size-fits-all approach. Not more overhwhelm or decisions to make.

Something that meets you where you actually are. Baseline learns your patterns over time. The more you use it, the better it gets at knowing what you need.

Built for real days. Not ideal ones.

Why this matters beyond the app

I want to say something that might sound slightly dramatic but I mean completely sincerely.

I think the world is a better place with more moments at baseline.

More presence in ordinary conversations. More clarity in hard decisions. More people feeling like themselves on a Tuesday afternoon rather than only on holiday or on retreat or in the rare moments when everything aligns perfectly.

That's not a small thing. That's the whole thing.

We spend so much of our lives not living fully, slightly away from ourselves. Running on activation, on autopilot, on the familiar hum of low-grade stress that became so normal we stopped noticing it. And the distance between that state and actually being here — present, clear, connected — is smaller than most people think. It doesn't take an hour. It doesn't take the perfect conditions.

It takes two minutes of the right thing.

That's what I've learned this year more than anything else. Not from building the app — from using it. From giving myself the same thing I kept telling clients they needed. From finally closing the gap between knowing and actually feeling.

What I want for you

Not a transformation. Not another thing to get better at. Not a perfect morning routine or a new version of yourself.

Just more moments of actually being here.

In your body. In your actual life. On a real Tuesday when nothing is particularly wrong and nothing is particularly right and you just want to feel like yourself for a minute.

That's baseline. That's what we built this for.

And we're only just getting started.

Baseline is live. Seven days free, cancel any time. If it resonates — share it with someone who needs it. The world genuinely is a better place with more moments at baseline.
